Saturday, May 21st, 2011Ahhh, another amazing night last night! It was going to be an ordinary night, taking my Bean to the park and then for ice cream. That morning I had received a text from Stacy going over her status and I figured I'd be going in the middle of the night. NOT SO! I got another text at 3:30 saying they were on their way to the hospital so I was on stand by. Got my next text at 4pm, they were in triage and she was 4.5cm. Got another text at 5pm she was 7.5cm! Needless to say I shot up there as fast as I could! She was going three times as fast as an average labor! I got there and it was another hour and they were prepping her to push! She pushed for 45 minutes and so Grady was born! They decided not to find out the gender and so they had this big moment and realized the baby was a he and he was definitely Grady. They both got teary and lots of smooches to go around. I of course was balling. The doctor asked if I was ok…I said yeh but how often do I get to see this really??!? I mean there was a brand new well loved human in the room! Nothing more beautiful than that! (PS check out the beginning of their story here.) Grab the tissues…here we go:

OK so seriously when it was time to start pushing Adam put this on to lighten the mood. Stacy laughed and I think it helped her relax a bit. Adam is just a stitch!

Adam and Stacy, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of Grady's first moments on this earth and your first moments as a family. I am so incredibly honored and now every time I think of you guys I know I will tear up. What a happy day. He is amazing and I am so thankful I got to witness his birth. PS the nursing staff rocks. They were so kind and helpful, and let me ask all kinds of crazy questions! What does that thing do? What's that for? etc etc. Special shout out to Corey and Shannon who were so great at allowing me to do my job (and even encouraging me!)

Love Package Album {Toledo Maternity & Newborn Photography}
Thursday, May 19th, 2011We have our Love package which includes the maternity session and the newborn session together and it includes an album to remember these precious time in every parent's life! I thought I would share a few page spreads from Kailey and Rankin's Love Album!
You can check out their maternity session and baby Rankin's newborn session as well as their birth documentary!
The book comes with 24 pages so 12 page spreads total and it is split in half….half for the maternity photos and half for your precious new one's first photos! I know Kailey loved her book and I was thrilled to deliver it myself! Not only is this a big benefit from booking our Love package but you save some moolah too by booking the sessions together! I really loved working with Kailey and Rankin and being there for all of baby Rankin's first moments! I hope I get to continue to watch them grow as a family…there is so much love there. Adam and Stacy have also booked the Love package plus birth documentary. We are just waiting on Baby B's arrival!!!!! Trust me there is a lot more to unfold with that story and I am having a hard time being patient!
Little side note, June is booking very quickly. If you would like to reserve a June date be sure to email me (booking about two weeks in advance and that gap is getting bigger by the day!) I have one session slot left for the second week and then we are booking into the third! Talk to you all soon!

Baby Rankin’s Birth Story {Toledo Birth Photography}

I was sitting here hanging out with my own little bean when at 8pm I got a phone call from Kailey's mom "Her water broke we are on the way to the hospital!" I was so excited! I had been waiting for that phone call for a while! I got a text from hubby Rankin once they were at the hospital and she was only 3cm. I figured I had all night pretty much, I'd get some sleep and probably get called closer to time early in the morning! Boy was I wrong! I got a call 90 minutes later she had jumped 3 cm!! I quickly packed up my stuff and headed to the hospital. It was a short drive but by the time I got there she was at 7cm. Kailey was aiming for an entirely natural birth so when I got to her room she was sitting on the birthing ball in the shower. Her doula was massaging her back while she was contracting and Rankin was busy aiming the hot water on her back. Every now and then her doula, Mandy, would take a break and mom would step in. She also had her aunt Jody bringing water to everyone. It was quite the team. She also had Mimi and Grandpa, and Rankin also had his mom and sister Janice there. Kailey had such big group cheering her on and encouraging her. I was thrilled and honored to be a part of it. I was busy taking photos when suddenly Kailey felt different, some more pressure. The nurses came in and decided she needed to move back to her bed because it was almost time to push! Only a half hour after that she did begin to push and she only pushed for 20ish minutes! She had her completely natural birth and it was really something to witness. Her first baby and only 5 1/2 hours of labor beginning to end. Baby Rankin is beautiful and I can't wait to see him again on Wednesday for his newborn shoot! There are tons and tons of photos so I hope you have time and some tissues:

Rankin and Kailey, you guys did such a wonderful job and what a blessing baby Rankin is! I'm excited for you guys as you start this journey as a family. Granted I only have 11 weeks of experience but so far it's awesome! Your photos will be up soon!

I’m a Mom! {Toledo Birth Documentary}

It was the morning of the Pinnacle bridal show…4 am. (one hour after Tabitha predicted I would go into labor) I woke up and felt something. I thought nah, it’s two weeks early. So for the first four hours of my labor I let hubby sleep, and I worked. I edited, uploaded images sent a few emails (watched Seinfeld). I suddenly realized it had been a very consistent four hours so I woke hubby and we started to pack last minute stuff and I had to pack all the stuff for the bridal show! Couldn’t leave Tabitha hanging there! Finally six hours into labor hub and headed to the hospital. Once we were there they told us I was already over halfway done!The rest of labor flew by and before I knew it I was a mom I asked Tabitha months ago to capture the experience so we would have it forever (don’t worry nothing personal…just good stuff!) I was a bit uncomfortable with the idea of a birth documentary since it is such a personal and vulnerable experience but after seeing the images I could not be happier that I did and I think it is something every couple should consider! I won’t be posting our child’s name for privacy sake but I thought you might want a peek into my new life :) PS go over to Tabitha’s blog and tell her she is amazing, literally every time I look at these photos I begin crying. Think hub might hide them from me Oh and just so you know we WON BEST BOOTH at the Pinnacle bridal show! Quite the day for Wellspring Photography! Big shout out to our graphic designer Andrea and Lisa for holding down the fort for us! We literally could not have done it without you two!
Thought I’d grab one last belly shot, 38 weeks and this is 6 hours into labor.
I am seriously in love with my husband, I was thinking I can’t believe I am lucky enough to do this with you!
So deliriously happy:) We couldn’t stop crying, just so overwhelmed by all of it!
